Happy Medellín is dedicated to creating safe and happy experiences in Medellín, Colombia. We're here for everyone who dreams of coming but isn't quite sure yet.
Why we started
Medellín changes people. The warmth of the paisas, the music spilling out of every corner, the mountains glowing at sunset, the flowers everywhere. Yet so many people who would love it here never come, because of an old reputation and a lot of uncertainty.
We built Happy Medellín to close that gap with honesty and joy: real advice about staying safe, a directory of places we trust, and trips designed so you can relax and simply enjoy one of the most uplifting cities on earth.
How we work
- Every place is checked. Directory entries are verified against current sources (official sites, the city's tourism office, recent press) and dated. When something changes, we update it.
- Honest about safety. We cite official travel advisories and never hide the risks; we explain how to avoid them, kindly.
- Our recommendations are our own. We feature places because we'd send our own families there.
- Open about AI. Parts of this site are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by our team. Personal itineraries are generated by Claude, an AI model by Anthropic, from your answers and our directory, and we say so wherever they appear.
