El Poblado
Mondongo's (El Poblado)
Medellín's beloved tripe-soup institution, with a great bandeja paisa too
Relaxed$$ traditional bandeja-paisa family lunch
Mondongo's started in 1976 in a 20-seat space and is now Colombia's best-known mondongo (tripe soup) restaurant, with branches in El Poblado, Laureles and Envigado. It is a go-to for locals and visitors wanting generous, traditional Antioquian cooking; the Laureles branch tends to see fewer tourists.
Why we love it
- Mondongo soup with all the sides
- A classic bandeja paisa
- Laureles branch for a more local crowd
Enjoy it safely
