Everyday awareness$ outdoors hiking metro metrocable views

Parque Arví is a vast ecological park on the mountains northeast of Medellín, with more than 50 km of trails, a farmers' market and birding. Getting there is half the fun: Metro to Acevedo, Metrocable Line K to Santo Domingo, then the scenic Line L (Arví) cable car, which carries a tourist fare.

Why we love it

  • Ride Metrocable Lines K and L over the city
  • Hike forest trails, ideally with a park guide
  • Browse local snacks and crafts at the entrance market

Enjoy it safely

City officials describe Arví as secure, with periodic army presence; stick to marked trails, hike with a guide or group, and start early. Line L usually closes on the first working day of each week and occasionally for maintenance, so check before you go.
