Hacienda (Junín)

The original 1991 paisa kitchen, with a balcony over Junín

Go smart$$ traditional bandeja-paisa lunch centro

Hacienda opened on the Junín pedestrian street in downtown Medellín in 1991, and this second-floor original still serves classic comida típica such as bandeja paisa (including a mini version), mondongo and sancocho. Its balcony is a calm perch above the bustle below; the chain also has branches in Manila, Ciudad del Río and La Strada.

Why we love it

  • Try the Bandeja Hacienda or the mini bandeja
  • Balcony table over the Junín pedestrian street
  • Ideal lunch stop on a Centro walking day

Enjoy it safely

The restaurant itself is calm, but it sits in busy downtown: go at lunchtime, keep your phone tucked away on the street, and leave before dark.
